3 John 15 - Christian friendship

Scripture:

3 John 15
15 Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
NASU

Thoughts:

John closes his letter with this warm conclusion.  I like this reference to fellow believers as "friends," I think even more than the picture of us as brothers and sisters.  Friend is such an intimate term and implies a choice.  A sibling is such by nature and will always be, but friends we choose.  Should we not choose one another who are in Christ?

Prayer:

I thank You Lord for friendships in You.  I have found them to be so much deeper, so much stronger, than any I ever have had outside of the body of Christ.  Help me to be a good friend to my siblings in You.

Amen
