Micah 4:5 - Commitment

Scripture:

Micah 4:5
5 Though all the peoples walk
Each in the name of his god,
As for us, we will walk
In the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.
NASU

Thoughts:

This is such a powerful and timeless statement.  It reads like a rally cry.  One that should be echoed by those following Christ, today.

As Micah penned these words, the nature of the choice involved was more clearly defined -- choosing to follow God or false gods.  Today, we are making the same choice, sometimes unknowingly, as we choose either His way, or the way of the world.

Prayer:

Lord, the seduction of this world is as strong as ever.  On every side, there is temptation.  Temptation to cease resisting the sinful ways around me, and to "go with the flow."

Keep me wholly Yours!  Untainted by the idolatry around me.  May my passion be to walk steadfastly with You, no matter the cost.  Like Micah, may I choose to be faithful, even amongst a people who have rejected You.

Amen
