1 Thessalonians 5:18 - Thankfulness is obedience

1 Thessalonians 5:18
18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Thoughts:

Thankfulness is obedience.  We may not often think in these terms, but this is "God's will for you." 

We generally think of thankfulness as a choice that only affects our own happiness, but this is not the case.  It is a matter of obedience to God's will for our lives. 

Let us be obedient to Him, in thankfulness.


Prayer:

Lord, grow me in thankfulness.  Help me to rejoice in knowing You and in the life that You've given me, even when times might be hard.
