Amos 5:10 - Unashamed of Christ

Amos 5:10
10 They hate him who reproves in the gate,
And they abhor him who speaks with integrity.

Thoughts:

Is this not still the case today, for the ungodly? They tend to disdain those who live, uprightly. Jesus forewarned us:

John 15:18-19
18 "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

Therefore, we should not be surprised when we find we cannot blend into society. We are not of this world. Indeed, it's been remarked that if we never find ourselves at odds with worldly people and the prevailing direction of this world, we must wonder if we ourselves are in Christ.


Prayer:

Lord, thank You for saving and changing me. May Your holiness and love be evident in my life to all. May it be clear that I am a Christian.

Help me to not be ashamed of who I am in You. Keep me from conforming to the sinful mindset of this world. Instead, may I be an instrument in Your hand to draw others into the light.
