Mark 1:14-15 - Urgency of the gospel
Scripture:
Mark 1:14-15
14 Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee,
preaching the gospel of God,
15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at
hand; repent and believe in the gospel."
NASU
Thoughts:
It's impossible to miss the sense of urgency in the Lord's words. Now
was and is the time for people to repent and believe the good news of
Christ.
Christian, we must be on guard against being wooed to sleep by the
daily grind. Today, decisions could be made of eternal significance by
those around you. Today, you might help them enter a relationship with
the King of kings, to pass from death into life!
For those who have not entered into faith in Christ, what are you
waiting for? It will never be more convenient, more simple, or more
important than it is, today. No one knows if they will have a
tomorrow. Today we must decide if we will receive His forgiveness:
Hebrews 4:6-7
6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who
formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of
disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through
David after so long a time just as has been said before,
"TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,
DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS."
NASU
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see the urgency of the gospel, as You do. Help me to
respond to Your voice, today.
Amen
