Genesis 3:9-10 - God's questions and peace
Scripture:
Genesis 3:9-10
9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are
you?"
10 He said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid
because I was naked; so I hid myself."
11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from
the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?"

Thoughts:
God asks some questions of Adam. As we read more of the Bible, we
discover that in fact God is omniscient, knowing all things. So why
does He ask Adam these questions? I believe He's giving Adam an
opportunity to come clean about what he has done.
In His earthly ministry, Jesus often used probing questions like these
to expose the hearts of people. I believe He is still doing this,
today. Perhaps the most persistent question God asks of the Christian
is, "do you trust Me?" When He asks, we often want to hide as Adam
did. We don't want to admit that we are not trusting Him with some
area of our lives.
What in your life do you find hard to trust in God's hands? The
future? Your career or family? Your children? Your health? There
are so many things that we want to hold on to, rather than give to
Him. But only when we come out of hiding and let Him have all of our
lives do we find the peace that we all wish for.
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the
peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:
Oh Lord, help me to lay down all of my worries before You. Help me to
trust You with my life, every part. This is the peaceful life that I
want to live.
Amen
