Genesis 7:23 - At rest in the ark

Scripture:

Genesis 7:23
23 Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.
NASU

Thoughts:

The ark is for us a foreshadowing of what Christ has now done.  Only those in the ark were saved from God's righteous judgment.  Just as today, with our full understanding of God's plan, we know that only those who are in Christ are eternally saved.

Further, Noah and his family were sealed in the ark by the Lord:

Genesis 7:15-16
15 So they went into the ark to Noah, by twos of all flesh in which was the breath of life. 16 Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the Lord closed it behind him.
NASU

Just as Christians today are sealed by the Holy Spirit until we go home to be with the Lord:

Ephesians 4:30-31
30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
NASU

Prayer:

I thank You Lord that I am "in the ark."  No one can take this glorious truth away from me!  I may not be considered a success by the standards of this world, the memory of me may soon be lost after I take my last breath, but by the blood of Christ, I have a place in heaven with You.  Thank You, Lord!

Amen
